Three Cuban women see
their lives turned upside down at the same time. Maria, a peasant, lost her
daughter in unclear circumstances. Norma is a TV news broadcaster who
refuses to announce false government news. Nieves, who kills pigs in a
clandestine slaughterhouse, is sacked by her boss. The destinies of the
three women cross to weave a story as fragile as their lives amid
communism. Like in a tragic carnival, situations and protagonists move
restlessly from dance to quarrel, from cries to music, from comedy to
seriousness…hoping that tomorrow will be a better day.
