Storyline

- Denise Mone't is a native of Houston, Tx. She is a writer, director, producer, and actress. She has directed 20 independent feature films and several can be streamed on Tubi, peacock and Amazon prime. Denise started her own production company back in 2014 called Purple Hart Productions. This was inspired by Comedian Kevin Hart who she is a huge fan of. She is also inspired by greats like Angela Basset, Issa Rae, Shonda Rhimes and Ava Duvernay. Denise is a Christian, a mother and educator. She wants to create opportunities for anyone who has the passion for film in the independent film industry by creating films and television series right here in Houston, Texas.

Born and raised in Oakland, California, her path to acting didn't follow a traditional script. After relocating to Houston in 2014, Aequila discovered her calling in 2021-uncovering a natural talent that quickly translated to powerful on-screen performances. With It's Complicated AF, Aequila made her directorial debut, also writing, producing, and starring in the film-marking a defining moment in her evolution as a storyteller and creative force. Beyond the screen, Aequila is a proud mother of four, balancing artistry and purpose with unwavering determination. Her work is characterized by emotional depth, authenticity, and a bold commitment to stories that reflect lived experience.
